Upload/download
Quest2 has the great advantage of being a stand-alone, completely wireless HMD.
However Arkio force me to connect it to the PC through a USB cable to upload and download (OBJ, JPG ...).
I think that a shared web space between PC and HDM, similar to https://landingpad.me (Gravity Sketch), would be very useful.

Hi Giorgio Bogoni and thanks for the feedback. Having an easier way to import models and images on Quest via the web would be ideal, something that's on our roadmap. The best way to import models on the Quest for now is to use the PC version of Arkio and simply share imported assets by starting a meeting between the PC and Quest versions of Arkio. If you don't have a PC you can use the same workflow with a tablet or phone. Here are some instructions:
- Importing assets: https://support.arkio.is/hc/en-us/articles/360002034198-Import-export-basics
- Starting meetings: https://support.arkio.is/hc/en-us/articles/360002027678-Start-join-a-meeting.
- Tutorial on PC and mobile versions: https://www.arkio.is/learn
Simply drop an OBJ file into the right Arkio import folder on a PC (or mobile device) as per the instructions, place the assets in a scene, start a meeting and then join that meeting from the Quest. Everything you've modeled in Arkio as well as any imported assets will be synchronized with everyone else that joins the meeting, including any map or 3D buildings as well as time of day from the sun tool.
As for the PC version we have a PC installer that we can give you access to, or alternatively you can use the version you get via our Oculus Rift beta channel or via a Steam key. If you have the PC VR version, you can toggle between VR and desktop mode using the on-screen UI, or simply start Arkio on a PC without a VR headset connected.
We'll get in touch with you directly about getting you set up with the PC version if you're interested to try this workflow out.
