Excellent question. As Archicad is not natively supported by Arkio, you would have to manually export locally and upload into Arkio. This should prove relatively easy as Archicad exports natively to OBJ. Essentially, you will export locally an OBJ file from Archicad. Within Arkio, you can import locally that very file.

See the following post for the steps: https://support.arkio.is/hc/en-us/articles/9242761574557-Import-other-3D-CAD-formats-to-Arkio

Your post mentioned exporting your files as a SketchUp or Rhino model. You are welcome to do that as well. You would then open those files in their native applications and use our plugin to push to Arkio.

Please reach out further if you need additional help.

Tried it in Macbook app - see the uploaded Model from Archicad, but when i klock it, an advertisment appears for bying an Abo. Bought the Abo. Got the bill. But its still not possible for me to get the Cloud-Auplad into my szene - just the advertisment appears. Same in VR.

Wish - make it possible to mouse-klick and draw my file direct into the ARKIO-scene on Mac and it then should appear also on VR.

Here You see the Cloud File.

That wat appears, when I klick - place:

On the bill, there is no Activation-Code or something like that.

How can I get this thing working correctly?

My sincere apologies. In order to bring in models associated with design applications (Revit, Rhino, SketchUp), you would need our Pro subscription (not Plus). The Plus subscription can bring in OBJs and GLBs only.

I am happy to get on a call and help out further if it is necessary.

    Hi Heimo,

Thanks for getting in touch about this. I updated your post to remove some of your personal details that were shown on the invoice you got from Meta.

Regarding the floating license of Arkio. Since you bought a Plus license on the Meta Quest store this only enables Plus functionality on your Meta devices (similar to other app stores). Since Arkio supports many devices we have our own floating licensing system that works with license keys that can be bought via our website

These floating licenses can be used on other supported devices like the Mac to load your glb file. You can currently load this GLB file on your Meta Quest by uploading the file to your Quest using the Arkio cloud.

If you plan to use Arkio on other devices than the Quest you can best cancel the Plus license from the Quest store (mobile app or website) and get a license via our website instead. I hope this clarifies things and sorry for the confusion this might have caused.

Wether in the Quest, also not on the mobile-app - i found where i can cancel the plus-license al You suggested.

Its no problem for me to convert my Archicad-3D-Format into GLB over Blender - this is working smoothly.

    Hi Heimo,

You can find your subscription settings in the mobile app or VR from these instructions: https://www.meta.com/en-gb/help/quest/articles/accounts/purchasing-apps/cancel-an-app-subscription/

the little "abo" does not bother me much. Google don't let me cancel it because i played more than 2h with ARKIO - and so far its ok for paying for Your efforts.

This is great, thanks for sharing your tips for this workflow on YouTube Heimo!🙂

I noticed a few steps in your video where we could give some additional tips. The green plateau can be edited from the edges to fit your models and you can also load a map with 3D buildings using the map tool in Arkio to provide more context for an easier-to-move-around ArchiCAD building

We are happy to jump into an Arkio meeting with you to show this and answer some of the questions you might have. You can drop us an email at hello@arkio.is to find a good time for this.
