Arkio scenes are saved automatically after each operation and backed up every 2 minutes. Scenes can get corrupt when something goes wrong during modeling actions, meetings, or updates from an older version. If this happens you often end with un-editable spikey geometry in your scene and the scene can show a red preview and disappear the next time you open Arkio.
When you are missing a scene or have faulty geometry. You can use the Arkio history mode in the scene viewer to find a previous version on your device that still works correctly. Backups of your scenes are made every 2 minutes so the history mode often contains a still healthy version of your scene.
The steps to restore your scene are
1) Click the history mode and navigate to the model/time that looks correct (the name could have changed but the timestamp should be correct)
2) Click restore to bring back the yellow selected platform to your main Arkio scenes
3) Inspect the restored model if it has the latest geometry you want
4) Repeat the steps to restore the most suitable scene (there are 200 backups with 2-minute intervals during modeling so you should be able to find work you've done in the last weeks in Arkio)
Scenes that are marked invalid will be moved to the InvalidUserModels folder at the PC directory \Documents\Arkio\InvalidUserModels (see other device paths).
If you are using Arkio on a PC or Mac you can also browse your history backup files at \Documents\Arkio\UserModelsHistory You can copy the .arkio file to your main \Documents\Arkio\UserModels folder and restart Arkio to restore the scene manually.
If you have invalid scenes that don't load you can help us by sending the invalid and still working scenes from your InvalidUserModels and UserModelsHistory so our developers can see what is going on and help us improve Arkio. Get in touch with us at support@arkio.is if you like us to have a look or need help with recovering an invalid scene.
