Temp resource files
If you experience problems with your imported/downloaded content like files not loading or your list of imported files showing weird behavior you can clear your temporary resource cache. On the next startup, Arkio will then re-process all source images and 3D models in your \Documents\Arkio\Import folder and redownload any models and images that have been shared with you in an Arkio meeting or scene.
It's also possible to manually remove these resource files from your device by clearing the files from the device paths at the bottom of this page.
Import source files
Source files placed in the Documents\Arkio\Import folder will be reprocessed when a new file is added. If your import files are causing issues you can best also remove the the source file from the import folder that is causing issues as those files will be reimported every time you clear the resources cache.
Deleting a source file from Documents\Arkio\Import will not delete your imported files from Arkio as these files are often already processed to Arkio resources in the ResourceCache folder. If you wish to delete a resource completely from Arkio a manual deletion.
Cloud group imported files can also be downloaded in these import folders so when having issues with your imported files and preventing redownloading the source files you can best leave your Arkio cloud groups and join a new group instead.
Arkio scenes
Scenes contain your Arkio geometry and the details for placed imported resources so if you are experiencing issues with loading your scenes in Arkio it might be needed to manually access your files on your device. Arkio scenes are saved on your device and can be manually managed using a file browser. You can learn more about working with these files on this page
Restoring and recovering Arkio
Deleting the Arkio app from your Mac, Quest, iOS and Android device will erase all your saved scenes and imported data from that device and will reset Arkio completely. Before you delete the app you can best start an Arkio meeting from that device and share the Arkio scenes with content that you want to keep to another PC or Mac device running Arkio
This way you will have a backup of your files on more devices and you can share your arkio scenes back to your other devices after a fresh install of Arkio.
Device user file paths
In case you want to manually recover files you can use the following paths on your device to find files that you want to restore or clean when experiencing issues.
It's safe to remove the content of the ResourceCache folder as that content will be reloaded on the next run of Arkio (this has the same effect as pressing the clear button in settings) You can also clear the import folder if having issues with your imports and clear your export folder if you feel the folder is taking up too much data on your device. The Usermodels folder has your Arkio's saved scenes from that device. You can best refer to this page if you want to manually work with these files.
PC
Your Arkio scenes and imports are stored in your documents folder. The resources can be found in an AppData hidden system folder.
%userprofile%\appdata\locallow\Arkio\Arkio\Arkio\ResourceCache
%userprofile%\Documents\Arkio\Import
%userprofile%\Documents\Arkio\Export
%userprofile%\Documents\Arkio\UserModels
Uninstalling Arkio on a PC will keep your saved scenes and imports in your documents. When you reinstall and open Arkio these will be processed again.
Mac
In Mac your scenes and imports are stored in a hidden system directory ~\Library You can find this folder by searching for "Arkio" in Finder or using Finder > Go > Go to folder ~\Library
You can find the temp resource files in the ApplicationSupport folder
~\Library\Containers\is.arkio.arkio\Library\ApplicationSupport\is.arkio.arkio\Arkio
~\Library\Containers\is.arkio.arkio\Data\Documents\Arkio\Import
~\Library\Containers\is.arkio.arkio\Data\Documents\Arkio\Export
~\Library\Containers\is.arkio.arkio\Data\Documents\Arkio\UserModels
Meta Quest
Accessing files on your Quest requires developer mode to be enabled and connecting your Quest to your PC/Mac using a USB cable
\Internal shared storage\Android\data\is.arkio.arkio\files\Arkio\ResourceCache
\Internal shared storage\Android\data\is.arkio.arkio\files\Arkio\Import
\Internal shared storage\Android\data\is.arkio.arkio\files\Arkio\Export
