In Arkio there are several ways to navigate your environment and work with your model.
Moving around - the most natural way to get around is just moving your body and head in the direction you want and have a closer look at the model. This is a fun way to explore and adjust your designs at god or human scale.
Teleport - You can teleport by pressing the right joystick/touchpad forward. This transports you to the target location and changes your scale to human scale (1:1). Teleporting into the sky will put you back in “god” scale (which is set at 1:200).
Panning - To pan the model you must hold the grip button of one controller. Moving the controller correspondingly moves the world. Using both hands and grabbing the world in a “ski pole” movement is a great way of moving yourself through the world. Momentum is preserved so if you let go whilst moving you will slowly drift to a halt.
Scaling - To scale the world you hold both grip buttons down together and move your hands together or apart. You should physically feel your scale change and see the current scale above the white center line. The scaling will automatically snap when nearing an architectural model scale (1:10, 1:50, 1:100, 1:500, 1:1000).
Rotating - To rotate the model you hold the grip button on both controllers at the same time. You will see a white line connecting the controllers with a scale indicator. Rotating the controllers horizontally rotates the world around accordingly.
Non-VR navigation
Arkio non-VR navigation is similar to other 3D tools. You can use the mouse scroll wheel and touch gestures to zoom/pan around. and click/touch and drag on the Arkio table and UI to activate tools and work with the file.
