Hi and welcome to the Arkio Help Center. We've set up this Help Center to make it easy for you to understand how Arkio works. Using the community forums you can also provide us with direct feedback about any feature suggestions you may have, potential UX improvements, any bugs you may encounter or just general chat about doing modeling in VR or AR.
Arkio is a pretty ambitious project - we're trying to do something that hasn't really been done before. Arkio is basically a collaborative modeler where you use volumetric, parametric shapes to model buildings, interiors or entire urban plans in VR and AR. Any shape in an Arkio model is a special object in a spatial graph that manages and tracks all inter-dependencies between objects as well as collisions between them. This means that objects in Arkio have a physical element, almost like you're working with physical building blocks, and you can stack shapes, bash shapes into other shapes, slide shapes on surfaces and glue them to guides or shape features such as edges or corners.
With Arkio we're currently focusing on the early conceptual phase of an architectural project, be it exteriors, massing or urban planning projects where you're focusing on the overall picture and getting a quick feel for the different design options. That doesn't mean we don't have bigger ambitions than that, and you can actually produce some fairly detailed models in Arkio currently and also apply the app to various other use cases than architectural design. If you do we'd love to see your work in the Made With Arkio section in the community forums.
From the beginning we've been trying to gather as much feedback as possible from the architecture design community even though we've been in stealth mode, but now that we are in beta we want to make it as easy as possible to hear your thoughts and feedback on the app.
In this Help Center you'll find help on getting started and using Arkio, as well as community forums where you can post feedback and questions about the app. We'd love to hear your thoughts, but please remember to be civil and keep things on a positive note.
We're just getting started so there's a long way to go still, but hopefully the beta shows where we're heading and with your feedback we can work towards creating an app that can truly make architectural design more intuitive, collaborative and fun than before possible.
