Arkio allows you to create, share and switch between different design options using the scene overview found in the lower tab of the main menu. It shows a preview of your local model geometry (Custom content like loaded images, 3D models, map data, and props are not visible yet)
From the scene overview, you can create, duplicate, delete or export your scene to the various design tools. The highlighted plateau indicates your current active model. Switching between models can be done by selecting another model plateau. Models in Arkio are auto-saved after each operation so you can close Arkio or switch between options at any time.
When you create a new model you start with a default empty site of 500x320 meters. You can edit the corners of the green surface tot make your site larger or smaller, load a map with 3D buildings load a custom imports on the table as a base for your creations. You can duplicate a scene to make a copy of all current objects and properties so you can make an alternate study or prepare a different imported model to review together from the same point.
Models in the overview can de be renamed using the white input field in front of the model plateau. This will show a keyboard and allow you to update the name of the current highlighted. Scenes can be sorted alphabetically by name or by edit date so you can always find your latest file or sort them in the way you prefer by changing the name.
Model sharing in meetings
The easiest way to share Arkio scenes between your devices is to start a meeting between your devices and share the active scenes including all the imported resources. After you close this meeting your shared scenes will still be available on the other device as normal local models that you can continue to explore and work on.
You can start a meeting and share your local models by joining the same Room and password. When you are the Meeting host you can share, create, duplicate and toggle between different design options in a meeting.
Models that are shared in a meeting are offset slightly to the front vs models that are only available on your local device. The Meeting host can switch between these models or share any of their local scenes with the other meeting participants (platform highlighted yellow and pressing the share button will share it to the meeting)
Arkio models are shared from device to device and not stored in the cloud. This way you can control who has access to your data and can continue working on your projects offline. In a classroom setting, you can use an idle PC to host a meeting to share scenes with all student devices. You can also use an idle PC or Mac in a meeting to backup and record your work done on the Quest or mobile device as the desktop meeting host will act as a temporary private cloud to share your scene until all devices are disconnected.
Access and share your saved Arkio scenes between devices
Arkio's scenes are not stored in a central cloud environment but are stored on your device. This allows you to work with Arkio offline and supports working in high-security environments. Arkio automatically stores your Arkio scenes in the following paths so you can also manage troubleshoot or share your saved Arkio scenes manually. These .arkio files contain all the information to rebuild the Arkio scene locally and will download the end-to-end encrypted imported resources from our servers.
On some devices, it's a bit harder to reach your data than on others due to device limitations. It's easiest to access your files on a PC as the saved .arkio files can be directly found in your documents folder. You can also find the files on a Mac in a hidden system directory using Finder > Go > Go to folder To access files on your Quest you need a USB cable connected to your PC/Mac and Quest headset that has developer mode enabled. You can access the files on your iOS and Android device from your files browser app and use cloud services like Dropbox to transfer the files.
The following directories can be used to manually rename, restore, and manage your saved Arkio scenes. Copying the arkio files between devices allows you to share your scenes between devices without the need for a live Arkio meeting.

Model History and backups
Everything in Arkio is automatically saved and backed up. You don't have to worry about losing work as you can go back in time in history mode to find your backups (every 2 minutes). In this mode, automatic backups of models you previously worked on can be restored by selecting the model (yellow highlight) and pressing the restore button.
You can also find these autoscene backups on the device in the following path if you want to manually check and restore files based on the extra data available like the last edited timestamps. The .arkio files can just be copied to your main UserModels directory for them to be visible in your main scene overview.

Invalid models
When an invalid model is detected the plateau will show a red color. This model, unfortunately, can no longer be used and will be removed at the next start of Arkio. Models that went invalid can be restored from a recent history backup or can be reshared in a meeting from your other devices that worked with this model.
