When Arkio does not start in VR it's often due to the headset not being properly detected at the start. Please follow these steps to make sure it will start in VR mode with our supported VR hardware.
1. Make sure the headset is connected and turned on
2. Reboot your headset app and make sure only a single instance of it is running
3. Make sure the headset is detected and works correctly in other applications
If you are still experiencing VR startup problems after trying these steps you can contact us to see if we can help you fix the issue.
The latest version of Arkio supports both VR and desktop mode at the same time for local collaboration between VR and PC users. This might confuse SteamVR and cause issues when starting the app.
To fix any issues with the app not starting correctly in VR you can force the app not to use the standard SteamVR camera overlays. You can change this by going to the Arkio app, Gear>Properties and uncheck the Steam overlay and Desktop Game Theatre boxes.
The app should now start in VR and can be switched to desktop mode in Arkio.
